Toronto, ON (May 13, 2026) – The Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from the Canadian music, entertainment, arts, and business sectors who are dedicated to the organization’s mission to educate, elevate, and celebrate the incredible talent and country music community found within Canada. Today, the CCMA is pleased to welcome three newly elected members to the 2026-2027 Board of Directors.
The newly elected & re-elected 2026/2027 CCMA Board of Directors are:
Kurt Dahl
Kurt Dahl is a Canadian entertainment lawyer and professional musician who brings a rare dual perspective to the music industry. As a partner at Miller Thomson LLP, Kurt represents artists, producers, managers, labels, and production companies across Canada and internationally in music, film, television, and digital media. His practice focuses on recording, publishing, touring, financing, intellectual property strategy, and complex rights and revenue structures.
While building his legal career, Kurt simultaneously spent more than two decades as the drummer for internationally touring rock band One Bad Son, touring arenas with artists such as The Rolling Stones and Def Leppard, and achieving a #1 song in Canada. He remains an active musician, and his firsthand experience as a working artist informs his practical, artist-focused approach to advocacy, negotiation, and governance.
Kurt has extensive board experience and currently serves as President of the Western Canadian Music Awards and as Board Chair of the Sask Jazz Festival. Widely recognized as a thought leader in the music industry, he is a sought-after public speaker across Canada on entertainment law and the evolving business of music. With a strong presence in the country music community, he is passionate about supporting sustainable careers for Canadian artists and strengthening the long-term growth of the genre nationwide.
Tera Lee Flaman
Tera Lee Flaman is an Alberta-based music industry professional with more than 30 years of experience across the Canadian country music landscape. Known for her ability to build strong relationships, she has worked across multiple facets of the industry including recording artist, radio, promotion, artist development, live production, and artist management.
As a performer, Tera Lee earned a CCMA Rising Star nomination in 2004, and during her radio career she received five CCMA On-Air Personality of the Year awards. In 2023, she was honoured with the Country Music Alberta Industry Person of the Year award.
She has produced 10 CCMA Legends Shows and four Country Music Alberta Awards shows, and has also served two terms as a board member with Country Music Alberta, contributing to initiatives that support artists and strengthen the broader country music community.
Today, Tera Lee is an Artist Manager with GPS Artist Management. She is passionate about supporting artists, fostering collaboration across the industry, and contributing to the continued growth and sustainability of Canada’s country music community.
Lindsay Hyslop (Re-elected)
With more than 16 years of experience across label and artist management roles in Nashville and Toronto, Lindsay brings deep expertise in country music marketing and strategy. She currently serves at BMG Canada, based in Nashville, where she oversees marketing strategy and execution for the BBR Music Group roster, working closely with artists and key industry partners.
Prior to BMG, Lindsay held marketing and brand partnership roles with Anthem Entertainment, RGK Entertainment/Open Road, and Universal Music Canada. Throughout her career, she has worked with leading Canadian and international country artists including Madeline Merlo, Dean Brody, Gord Bamford, Lainey Wilson, and Jelly Roll.
In 2024 and 2025, Lindsay was honoured by her peers as the Canadian Country Music Association’s Industry Person of the Year. She has served on the CCMA Board since 2023, as well as the CMA Ontario Board and the CMA Canadian Task Force.
Beyond her professional work, Lindsay is a passionate animal advocate and co-organizes the annual Music Rescues events during Country Music Week, raising thousands of dollars each year for local animal rescue organizations.
