With four artist-category awards handed out last night at the CCMA Music Industry Awards and 8 additional awards handed out this evening on-air, the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA) has proven that although live music was on hiatus, artists were far from quiet.

Canada’s biggest night in country music, the 2021 CCMA Awards presented by TD delivered the first in-person Canadian awards show of 2021. Hosted by Canada’s Drag Race Season One winner Priyanka and 2021 CCMA Award winner Lindsay Ell, the evening was brought to life by outstanding performances, including virtual appearances by Walker Hayes, Thomas Rhett and 6-time CMA Award winner, Chris Stapleton.

Taking home the coveted Entertainer of the Year award for the third consecutive year is Vancouver’s Dallas Smith, who also celebrated wins in the Single of the Year and Male Artist of the Year categories. Tonight’s three wins were added to his second consecutive win in the Top Selling Canadian Album of the Year presented by Music Canada category given out at last night’s CCMA Music Industry Gala Awards.

Celebrating two artist category wins this year are Alberta’s Tenille Townes and Brett Kissel and The Reklaws. Townes held onto the title of Female Artist of the Year for the third consecutive year and saw her acclaimed album, “The Lemonade Stand” secure the title of FORD F150 Album of the Year.  Kissel secured the title of Amazon Music and Alexa’s Fans’ Choice for his third consecutive year, adding to his earlier win in the PRS Guitars Video of the Year category.

Tonight also saw The Reklaws secure a win in the Group or Duo of the Year category, also taking home a win at the CCMA Music Industry Awards last night for their collaboration track with Dean Brody which landed the title of Top Selling Canadian Single of the Year.  Proving that she is one of Canada’s fastest rising stars, Robyn Ottolini not only celebrated her first-ever CCMA Awards performance, she also took home a win for Rising Star.
