Canadian Country Music Hall of Honour Builder Inductee Announced Induction to take place at Country Music Week Edmonton, September 8-12 (Toronto, ON) June 8, 2010 – The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced today their 2010 builder/broadcaster inductee into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Honour. Former Chair of the CCMA Board of Directors and well known Canadian broadcaster, Tom Tompkins to be honoured at this year’s Country Music Week, being held in Edmonton, September 8-12. “As Chair of the CCMA Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to announce Tom Tompkins’ pending induction into the CCMA Hall of Honour,” said Jackie Rae Greening. “Tom’s passion for the Canadian country music industry is hard to ignore. For 14 years, Tom devoted his time and passion to the CCMA and its mandate and for 7 of those years, served as Chair of the Board.” Tom Tompkins has been in the broadcast business for forty years. His programming experience has covered a variety of formats including A/C, Oldies, AOR and Country music. Tom has won the CCMA for Country Music Person of the Year three times and is still working in radio as the Operations Manager/Network Program Director for Vista Radio Ltd. working out of Quesnel, BC. The builder/broadcaster Hall of Honour induction will take place at the 2010 CCMA Gala Dinner & Awards in Edmonton, AB on Saturday, September 11. The special Hall of Honour induction ceremony for this year’s artist inductees will take place in Edmonton, AB on Friday, September 10. This will be a ticketed event, open to the public.
