For almost three decades, Canada's country music industry has honoured artists, songwriters, broadcasters and "industry builders" by inducting them into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Honour, which was originally established in 1984.
Induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Honour recognizes long-term contributions to the growth and development of Canadian country music. The recipient may be living or deceased, an Artist, Builder or Broadcaster, but must be recognized for his/her achievements as a Canadian. Members of the CCMA are invited to nominate an individual or group in the categories of Artist, Builder, and Broadcaster.
