Events Songwriters' Café Presented by SOCAN The reviews are in and the Songwriters' Café gets 5 stars from delegates and fans alike. With a celebrity host, this 3-day event provides an intimate atmosphere, where both established and non-established, national jury-selected songwriters take the stage in an acoustic, in-the-round setting. Kick-Off Party Presented by Big Valley Jamboree The annual Kick-Off Party is the first of several networking events at Country Music Week. Referred to as a family reunion for the Canadian country music industry, this year's event takes place on Thursday evening at Fort Edmonton Park. Join us as we toast the beginning of another fun-filled four days of country music while we experience the times of our lives at Canada's largest living history museum. This is a ticketed, industry only event. New Artist Showcase Presented by Galaxie Don't you just love saying, "I saw them when...?" So do we and we're giving you the opportunity to say it about some of Canada's soon-to-be country stars at the 2010 New Artist Showcase. Each year the CCMA receives over 100 submissions for this one performance opportunity, from which only 8 artists will be selected by our national juries of industry professionals. Showcasing artists from the past have gone on to become huge, international stars... be one of the first to say you saw them when..! This event is open to delegates and public and helps our fresh-faced country artists make the connections necessary to help launch their careers. CCMA Industry Brunch & Awards Presented by Field Law Music presented by On Ramp Records What better way to start your morning than with a brunch buffet, CCMA Awards presentations and star performances from On Ramp Records? The annual Industry Brunch & Awards celebrates the achievements of those working behind the scenes all year to make our artists look good online, on-screen in print and across the airwaves. With an all-star host, this event combines powerful performances as well as special presentations for achievements in the music industry. This is a ticketed, industry only event. Open Mic Night Presented by LiveTourArtists Join us Friday night, as we present an open stage for artists and performers. This event is designed to thread local and national artists together for a night of wonderful collaborations and new music - Open Mic is timed to close the evening with one of a kind moments and memories - along with a star Emcee. Take this opportunity to introduce new material to your peers or to entertain the delegates with some of your better known material. Put your name in the hat and take the stage for your first time or your fiftieth... this stage welcomes all! This is a non-ticketed event, open to all. FanFest Event Sponsors: CMT and HMV Because our country fans are some of the most dedicated and loyal fans in the world we believe in rewarding them each year with FanFest! This year's event will be held in the Ice Palace at the West Edmonton Mall. One of the loudest, most memorable events for the community each year, the FanFest stage sees 16 performers over the course of 4 hours, and you'll not only get to see them play an acoustic set, but will also have a chance to get their autographs and "Say Cheese" as you pose for pictures. CCMA Gala Dinner & Awards Presented by CFCW and CISN Music presented by Bak 2 Bak Entertainment and Cache Entertainment This creative black tie affair allows us to celebrate the achievements of our Canadian country music industry. Join the who's who of the Canadian country music industry along with visiting dignitaries and community VIP's for a multi-course meal, star emcee and performances by two Alberta stars, CCMA Award winning performer Gord Bamford and rising country star Brett Kissel. Multiple industry awards, Hall of Fame inductions and a series of unique moments make this one of the most important and memorable events at Country Music Week. This is a ticketed, industry only event. All-Star Band Awards & Jam Session Presented by Catherine Faint Entertainment Kick off those cowboy boots and settle in for a night of picking and plucking by Canada's best! This event recognizes the musicians out on the road year-round helping our artists put on the best possible performances. The Awards portion of the evening is hosted by master guitarist, Wendell Ferguson and will feature performances from some of our most talented artists and musicians. Following the award presentations, the stage opens up for a jam session that features performances from that night's winning musicians and artists on-site. This is a night of "anything goes" and as a Country Music Week delegate, you will be right there in the middle of it all. This is a ticketed event, open to industry and community. Great Guitar Pull Presented by Gold & Gold Productions and Live Nation Connect with some of country's greatest songwriters in a session that challenges performers to match song for song, some of the most celebrated melodies of the genre. This is an event that showcases the chart toppers of country - and even lets listeners in on the stories behind the hits! The annual Guitar Pull allows you to meet the creators of some of the world's most played music and is a rich and memorable highlight of the week that celebrates the incredible gift that music - particularly country music - gives to the world. CCMA Awards Show It's a night full of "moments" with all the stars of Canadian country and everyone's invited from St. John's to Kelowna, but Edmontonians will have the best seats in the house! Join us for a two-hour review of a year in country music at Rexall Place, Sunday, September 12 at 5 PM MST. Once again in 2010, the Canadian Country Music Awards will be broadcast live on CBC with encore airings on CMT in Canada. The CCMA works hard each year to fill the evening's bill with the best and brightest of Canada's country music scene with a few special international guests also invited to share the stage.
